A man of the law came from somewhere, he had the strength of a wolf and a bear. Defender of the weak, he defies all danger, the upholder of justice: Marshall Bravestarr."
This is how every adventure of the fearless comic series hero Bravestarr begins. Equipped with animal superpowers (bear's strength, hawk's eyes, wolf's ears, puma's speed) he ensures law and order as a law enforcement officer on the legendary planet New Texas in the 23rd century. New Texas is the futuristic take on a classic Western scenario: Between banks, saloons, Native Americans and ghost towns, Marshall Bravestarr protects the planet's settlers from evil, lawless outlaws.
In his fight against evil villains, he can count on the help of his trusty "techno horse" Thirty-Thirty, who can transform into a human version. Other assistants include his deputy Deputy Fuzz, the beautiful judge Jay Bee and his old teacher Shaman, from whom Bravestarr received all his powers and learned how to use his abilities. The marshall's worst adversary is the nasty Tex-Hex, who has special weapons that can transform normal people into monsters, so-called dingos. He also has the magical gift of being able to vanish into smoke, making this villain almost impossible to capture.
A nefarious group has gathered around him, with sinister figures named Stampede, Skuzz, Sandstorm, Thunder-Stick or Vipra. The crooks are doing everything they can to get the kerium-rich planet under their control, because kerium is the most precious raw material of the future, which supplies spaceships and machines with unimagined energy. And so Bravestarr has his hands full to keep New Texas safe from the attacks and machinations of the arch-evil crooks... Especially nice: At the end of each episode there is a moral of the story from the point of view of the noble marshal.
In the style of Saber Rider or the Galaxy Rangers, this series from the well-known cartoon company Filmation ("He-Man", "She-Ra") from 1987 represents another highlight of animated cartoon art. Overall, the makers of the US created -American animated series about the directors Tom Tataranowicz and Bob Arkwright 65 episodes. The marshal also became known in Germany for his own series of radio plays and the obligatory action figures.
